Jessica, founder of Sparrowhawk Communications, recently talked to Chris Havergal, Times Higher Education’s News Editor for a webinar hosted by Roxhill Media.
Chris, who has been News Editor at Times Higher Education for five years, talked about how the publication is changing.
Times Higher Education’s readership is more international than it’s ever been. This is partly because of the shift to online, but also because of growing interest across the world in university rankings. As a result, it now makes more sense for the publication’s journalists to look for stories that are of interest to a global readership.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that Times Higher Education doesn’t want to know what is happening in the UK, but the bar is higher for stories about UK-specific topics that can’t be put in a global context.
Chris also mentioned Times Higher Education Campus - a new platform where universities can post resources and ideas for their peers on topics as diverse as academic teaching, the internationalisation of HE and how to support early years researchers.
