Our knowledge of how the media works and journalistic contacts are second to none

We capture the stories of your life in a top-quality recording that you and your family and friends will be able to keep and play forever.

It's not unlike BBC Radio 4’s most successful radio show Desert Island Discs, but there are some key differences and anyone can have their life story recorded - not just famous people.

We’re trained journalists and sound engineers who can’t wait to meet you - virtually or in person - and hear your life story and music tracks.

If you’d like to be a Castaway, here’s what you’ll need to do:

Come up with six to eight music tracks that are important to you. It doesn’t matter if they are obscure, we can almost always find them! For rights reasons, the recording you will receive will not include the music, but I will provide a list of the tracks you have chosen so that anyone listening to your recording can play your music at the right time in the recording themselves.

Contact me to book in a 45-minute call in which we will discuss your life story and tracks before we record anything. During this call, we can confirm a time and place that is convenient for your interview.

At the time agreed with you, I will interview you about your life and the music that holds special meaning to you.

A fortnight to three weeks later, you’ll be given a top-quality recording of your life story and a list of your chosen music.

We can send the recording and the list of your tracks to as many family and friends as you’d like at no extra cost.

If you’d like to give a friend or relative a gift of their own Castaway Story recording, here’s what you’ll need to do:

Email me to book in a phone call to discuss the Castaway’s life story and any particular stories, memories or anecdotes you’d like them to include in the recording.

I will ask for their contact details and then arrange a 45-minute call in which I will discuss their life story and tracks with them before we record anything.

Don’t just take it from us … this is what recent customers say:

“Jess is a very empathetic and enthusiastic interviewer and generous with her time. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience that I attribute to her skill and ability. I now have a recording that will always be precious.”

Richard Sumray

“We have just had a family Zoom and listened to Mum and Dad’s Castaway recording! I wanted to drop you a note and say a big thank you.

"The whole experience has been wonderful. The final result is a very emotional, poignant recording capturing a perfect tone.

"They clearly had great fun doing it and we couldn’t wish for a better present. Despite the obvious challenges of lockdown, you managed to create a really wonderful memory for all of us and we’re extremely grateful.”

James Engel

"My mum is living with Motor Neurone Disease - she has a voice bank of herself, but needs others to type those words for her. This was always going to be challenging to produce and edit. The end result is wonderful and we are all delighted with it."

Richard Pollins

We can’t wait to meet you and capture your memories, stories and music for future generations to enjoy!

The price is £220 and includes as many copies of the recording as you’d like.

This clip is from a great grandma of three, Hettie,
who was 90 when I recorded her Castaway Stories.
Here she is talking about what it was like to be nine and Jewish when World War II broke out.
